 What is Cerebral Palsy?

As part of Cerebral Palsy (CP) Awareness Month, we are doing some posts relating to CP.

Cerebral palsy is a complex disability & everyone with CP, presents completely differently! This is why a lot of medical professionals do not specialise in it & why despite being a neurological condition, those with cerebral palsy do not receive the same type or level of treatment/ care as other neurological conditions & despite other neurological conditions having there own medical pathways, CP doesn’t & those with CP, have to pay to get the care / treatment/ physio / massages that is needed to be able just to function in every day life!

Cerebral palsy, is the most common motor disability & is a group of neurological disorders that affect movement, balance & posture.

Read more about the basics of cerebral palsy in the graphics & there will be another post on the different types of cerebral palsy soon!
